Turns out a group of researchers are using Grand Theft Auto 5’s driver AI to teach their self-driving cars how to navigate through traffic. Davide Bacchet of startup Nio recently connected with Bloomberg, where he explained why the company is using Grand Theft Auto 5 to help train the company’s driverless cars. Bacchet revealed during the interview that “just relying on data from the roads is not practical”, and added that Grand Theft Auto 5 provides “the richest virtual environment that we could extract data from....

But a gamer can only shoot a random passerby in the face or smoosh a rival with a tank so many times before it begins to get a little dull. Thankfully, Rockstar is rolling out a brand new mode for Grand Theft Auto V that is sure to excite fans looking for something a little different. Going live as of December 8th for current-gen platforms and the PC only, the new mode is called ‘Every Bullet Counts’....

A new report from Kotaku’s Jason Schreier sheds light on how Rockstar has responded to the crunch culture criticisms. In regards to the next Grand Theft Auto game, which is presumably Grand Theft Auto 6, the game will release “moderately sized” as opposed to being massive right out of the gate. Schreier noted that the game will still be “large” considering Rockstar’s standards, but fans can expect it to be expanded on with post-launch updates....

The Confucius Institute U.S. Center facilitates Chinese language and cultural courses in around 500 K-12 schools and 65 colleges across the country. On December 31, 2020, the Trump administration submitted a proposed rule to the Department of Homeland Security that would have required American educational establishments to disclose links with Confucius Institutes....

New polling from Morning Consult and Politico, which was conducted from May 22 to 26, showed that only 41 percent of GOP voters support the use of hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel virus. That’s down 11 points from April, when the majority—or 52 percent—of Republicans said they backed the medication. Support for the treatment also declined among Democrats and independents, who were already much less likely to support the use of the drug....

“I don’t know if y’all saw, but a month after president Trump left office the American Journal of Medicine came out with a great article that they had discovered a regimen of medication that, when taken together early in COVID, that you may have heard of it hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, Z-Pak, azithromycin, zinc,” Gohmert said during a speech at the Texas Youth Summit Friday night. To be fair, the Arkhamverse only featured Gotham City as its open world in Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Knight. The latter of the two has been compared directly to Gotham Knights for fans to discern which game they believe to have the higher fidelity and graphical density, whether those comparisons were fair or not. Though Batman: Arkham Knight’s island borough districts are detailed and full of militia occupation events, Gotham Knights’ night-to-night patrol system is a more riveting approach, with premeditated crimes and clues adding weight to the RPG experience....

There were disappearing faces, citizens stuck in walls, and my personal favorite, this cutscene getting interrupted by a group of yapping NPCs. Typically, when a game doesn’t work as intended that’s cause for disappointment (read: Halo: Master Chief Collection), but this is a little different....
