Fans of Grand Theft Auto are beginning to grow impatient as they wait for news on the next installment. Developers at Rockstar have released very little information regarding the future of the series, so not much is known about what it will entail. Rockstar has a history of including its most popular characters in multiple games, so it is not unlikely that a few familiar faces will show up. Many stories have yet to be concluded, so Grand Theft Auto 6 could serve as the means for doing so.
10 Niko Bellic
The story of Niko Bellic in Grand Theft Auto 4 is one full of melancholy and heartbreak. He journeys to Liberty City in the hope of abandoning his life of crime under the guise of pursuing the American dream. Though his intentions are good, the world around him denies him the peaceful life he yearns for.
The end of his story sees him escaping his life of crime through means of violence, so one can assume his criminal activity has come to an end. In Grand Theft Auto 5, Lester informs the player that he “went dark,” so not much is known about his current situation. Grand Theft Auto 6 has the power to bring his story to a conclusive end.
9 Franklin Clinton
The Contract update for Grand Theft Auto Online allows players to experience more of Franklin’s story. Since the events of GTA 5, Franklin has moved up in the world and become an entrepreneur of sorts, but he still longs for a life of crime.

Franklin now has a stable career and a loving family, but his return to the series marks the beginning of a new story. What was once concluded has been undone and fans are eager to learn what will become of Franklin in the future. Grand Theft Auto 6 is capable of definitively ending his story on a happy note.
8 Lazlow
Lazlow has been a regularly occurring character throughout the Grand Theft Auto series with his most notable depiction being seen in GTA 5. He is a minor character with whom the player will cross paths multiple times throughout the events of the game.
This perverse sleazebag is voiced by the American talk show host Lazlow Jones, who has since left the series. With his voice actor no longer available, it is likely that the iconic talk-show host will not be present in future installments. Still, Grand Theft Auto 6 could pay tribute to Lazlow by bringing his story to an end.
7 Claude
Claude, the protagonist in Grand Theft Auto 3, is without a doubt the most elusive character present in the GTA series. The unspoken gunslinger’s story ends on what many could argue to be a cliffhanger, further enhancing his mysterious nature.
In 2011, Rockstar stated “He certainly isn’t dead. What else became of him, we don’t know,” revealing that they also do not know where his story led him. Very little is known about what happened to Claude after the events of GTA 3, so his story may finally reach its end in Grand Theft Auto 6.
6 Michael De Santa
Michael De Santa is one of the three main protagonists in Grand Theft Auto 5. The narrative portrays him as an extremely conflicted man living two different lives while struggling to keep them separate. The player has the option of killing him during the game’s climax, but it is entirely up to them.

If Michael made it out of GTA 5 alive, there is a chance he gave his criminal lifestyle up, but knowing his tendencies, it is unlikely. Though he enjoys playing the part of a loving husband and father, he is a criminal at heart. Grand Theft Auto 6 could finally end his inner conflict by forcing him to face the consequences of his actions.
5 Lester Crest
If not for Lester’s genius mind, much of Grand Theft Auto 5’s narrative would not have happened. He is an expert in criminology who knows how to stay off the radar, making him a great asset to the player. Though he seems untouchable, he is not invincible.
Lester’s story needs to come to an end as his presence in the series is one that outweighs all others due to the level of power he holds. If he were to partake in the events of Grand Theft Auto 6 it would be wise for him to end his story by retiring, as it would be unrealistic for him to continue to escape his repercussions.
4 Lamar Davis
The master of mockery himself, Lamar Davis, is arguably the most essential side character in Grand Theft Auto 5. He spends the majority of this game’s narrative committing small-time criminal activity before eventually making a name for himself in Grand Theft Auto Online.
He owes most of his success to Franklin Clinton, his best friend who allowed him to profit from his business endeavors. Grand Theft Auto 6 could give Lamar his own fifteen minutes of fame by allowing him to pursue success without the help of others. Though the outcome would be unpredictable, it could finally give Lamar a semblance of independence.
3 Carl Johnson
CJ is the protagonist of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Upon learning of the death of his mother, he returns to San Andreas from Liberty City to attend her funeral. Though he initially hoped to escape the questionable life he once lived, returning to his hometown reveals to him that his enemies never forgot.

The events of the story see CJ besting the majority of his enemies, so he likely went on to live a prosperous life, but nothing is confirmed. Grand Theft Auto 6 has the potential to finalize CJ’s story by bringing back his undefeated foes and forcing him to take them out.
2 Trevor Philips
Trevor Philips is by far the most unpredictable and unhinged character featured throughout the entire Grand Theft Auto series. Though he gains closure from the revelation of a life-altering secret, his absurd demeanor never diminishes.
His unpredictable nature would more than likely lead to an unpredictable end. Trevor Philips is the type of character whose insanity will never cease. Grand Theft Auto 6 could offer him a peaceful end, but whether he would accept or not it is unclear.
1 Roman Bellic
Roman Bellic is an iconic character mostly recognized in the GTA series for his obsession with bowling. His story centered on him becoming engulfed by a world of violence and butchery, but by the end of the game, he manages to escape the clutches of the criminal world.
Though many fans believe that GTA 4 offered a conclusive end to Roman’s story, many will not rest until Roman is crowned bowling champion of Liberty City. Grand Theft Auto 6 could reference Roman’s rise to stardom through billboards, talk shows, and perhaps even a series of bowling alleys owned by the iconic character himself.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is now in development.
