As seen in the video below, Grand Theft Auto 5’s law enforcement is no match for the Hulk, as he absorbs bullets like a sponge does water. After so much wanton destruction—the big green barbarian throws a train car to take down a police chopper, among other things—the military is eventually called in to take down the giant brute, but even their automatic weapons and armored trucks can’t best the beast.
The handiwork involved in the Hulk mod is quite remarkable, especially since it even includes the character’s guttural roar as a taunt. In fact, the gameplay featured in the footage is actually reminiscent of Radical Entertainment’s title The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, which is considered by many to be one of the greatest Marvel video games ever made.

This isn’t the first time we’ve encountered a Marvel Comics-inspired alteration for GTA 5 from JulioNIB. A few months ago, he constructed a fully-functional Iron Man mod that allowed players to wear, wield, and fly the hero’s armored Mark III suit. Then, several weeks later, the modder used Tony Stark’s tech as inspiration yet again, and built an in-game Hulkbuster mech-suit modeled after the version that was featured in Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
With so many mods influenced by popular Marvel characters making their way into Grand Theft Auto 5, maybe it will encourage Rockstar to eventually make a bid for the rights to develop an Avengers release so that we could one day get their take on superhero games. After all, it would be interesting to experience a more mature version of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. In the meantime, fans at least have solid Marvel titles like Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and X-Men Origins: Wolverine to play.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is currently available for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One
