Rockstar Games has not confirmed anything so far, but it’s not uncommon for GTA games to be delisted from different platforms. Normally, it’s because of some music licensing issues, and the games have to be taken down until these issues are sorted out. However, GTA 4 is still available for purchase on both Xbox and PlayStation stores, so if this is a licensing issue, then it’s only limited to the Steam version of the game. Also, Rockstar Games did remove and replace most of the game’s old music back in 2018, so it’s highly unlikely that it’s a licensing issue. For now, all fans can do is speculate and wait for either the game to reappear or official word from Rockstar Games regarding the delisting.

Some hopeful fans have gone as far as to suggest that this might be a hint towards a remake or remastered version of Grand Theft Auto 4, but that’s not very likely either since the company has not shared any plans regarding remakes of the game so far. Also, delisting the game has never been a way to announce a remake unless, of course, Rockstar Games is about to release the remake in the coming months and doesn’t want people to purchase the older version of the game.
Again, all of this just pure speculation by hopeful fans of the game who just want to get their hands on a revamped version of the game. It remains to be seen when the game will come back live so people can purchase it via the Steam store, but those who already own the game can still play it without any issues.
Grand Theft Auto 4 is currently available for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
