In an official announcement, Polyphony Digital’s Update 1.11 offers some bug fixes, new race events, and increased rewards. While some new content introduced in the update is a welcomed addition to the game, Gran Turismo 7 could still use some major fixes down the road.

Along with seven car manufacturer invitations, including Aston Martin, Bugatti, Citroën, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, and Porsche, Update 1.11 fixes an issue related to Invitations expiring well before they should have. Gran Turismo 7 currently has over 400 available cars, and providing players with some new manufacturers is never a bad thing, but the omission of certain bugs persisting in the game leaves many wondering when they’ll be addressed. Currently, players are reporting that they only receive the cheapest prize in roulette on every attempt, regardless of the conditions, pointing out that the current system appears to be severely broken.

The only other issue resolved in the new update is in World Circuits, fixing the background music failing to play at the start and finish lines of a race. The minor update concludes there, and while Polyphony Digital makes due on some of its promises, specifically increasing rewards and the number of cars, it misses the mark on some of the bigger concerns. Gran Turismo 7 still offers one of the best racing experiences ever to hit the PlayStation, but its predatory microtransactions continue to lurk in the shadows and remain one of the game’s biggest problems. While promises for more changes relating to credits keep fans hopeful, its absence in the latest update has not gone unnoticed by the player base.

While a future update in April is still possible, fans of the game appear to still be unhappy following the game’s latest patch. Last month, fans of Gran Turismo 7 resorted to review bombing the game over developers not addressing the microtransaction problem in the game, as well as the lack of credits issued. Polyphony Digital’s response included an increase in currency rewards and an apology containing credits for network issues plaguing the game. The reaction from the player base isn’t all negative, as some are praising developers for the increase in content and satisfaction towards being able to accumulate more rewards and credits in a short amount of time.

Listed below are the full patch notes released by the game developer Polyphony Digital.
