It may not be the Nathan Fillion casting that the world has been clamoring for, but actor Vincent Nordone plays the role of Nathan Drake very well, mimicking the in-game stances accurately as Drake sneaks around an enemy camp and rescues his wife, Elena. The voiceovers of the characters add an extra touch of authenticity, as Nathan quips his well through takedowns and combat scenes, much like the actual Naughty Dog character would do in the face of danger.

This is far from the first live-action videogame production from Freakin Rad, a popular YouTube channel that most recently released a real life Rise of the Tomb Raider trailer. It looks like that previous video had a strong focus on climbing mechanics, so we can forgive Freakin Rad for neglecting it in the video above. As fun as the grappling hook is in Uncharted 4, sometimes you just need to throw a gas can at enemies and blow them up.
We commended Naughty Dog for producing an excellent narrative for Nathan Drake’s final chapter, although we also have some admittedly out-there theories on the true fate of charismatic protagonist. Regardless of what happens in A Thief’s End, it looks like gamers are interested in experiencing the tale for themselves: Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that the game sold 2.7 million units in its first week alone, making the game a clear-cut commercial success.
Naughty Dog even went the extra mile and ensured the game was accessible to disabled gamers everywhere, and fans have become so attached to the title that they even petitioned to have a negative press outlet review removed from Metacritic. The fan attachment to the title seems to solidify what we’ve said before: Uncharted 4 is one of the best games of this generation, and the video above is a nice homage to one of Naughty Dog’s best productions yet.
