Many believed that at least one of these would be delayed, with the likely candidate seemingly being Hogwarts Legacy. Rumors emerged around this, until a tweet by a higher-up at Warner Bros suggested Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy were on track to release this year. Now, according to Bloomberg Journalist Jason Schreier, Suicide Squad has been “quietly delayed” into 2023, per sources familiar with its development.

It’s worth noting that Warner Bros. itself has not yet responded to this, but it is likely to do so sometime in the new few weeks, if not days. However, fans online are having a mixed reception. It’s not entirely surprising that one of Warner Bros. titles was delayed, but some are surprised that it’s Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League because it has had more marketing released than Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy.

Aside from that, many are also quick to note that fans were “never” going to get all of these games in one year, while others are worried about Gotham Knights potentially being delayed too. While the aforementioned tweet is reassuring, this game having less out in the wild than Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has certainly drawn attention. Now, with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga having a release date of April 5, it’s entirely possible that Gotham Knights is a mid-to-late summer game.

In that case, there’s still time for Warner Bros. Interactive to pick up marketing on the game, so it may not be time to cry foul just yet. However, should Warner Bros. Interactive confirm this very likely delay of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, it will raise questions regarding delays for Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy. It may be that fans get 3 out of 4 games this year, but the uncertainty is there for the latter two.

Will Gotham Knights Get Delayed?

Fans will just have to wait and see when/if Warner Bros. confirms this delay. It may not confirm release dates, but presumably, the company would also mention at this time any potential delays for Gotham Knights or Hogwarts Legacy too. It’s a really hard call on if either will be delayed or not, and the fact that Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has the most marketing out of the three of them doesn’t give a reliable baseline for comparison.

Looking at the two, though, it seems Hogwarts Legacy is more likely to be delayed again than Gotham Knights. This is especially true if, instead of a summer release, Warner Bros. Interactive looks to only release one game in the second half of the year, making a big fall/holiday release. Otherwise, if these two are not delayed, fans can expect to learn more about them in the coming months.

Gotham Knights is set to release in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
